In recent years, one of the preferred aesthetic treatment methods in aesthetic surgery is blepharoplasty. Blepharoplasty, which is referred to as eyelid aesthetics, includes operations such as contouring, shaping, and improvement of the eyelid.
The eyes are one of the most important human organs. As age progresses, the problem of skin sagging also occurs in the eyelids under the eyebrows. It has been determined that advanced eyelid drooping causes vision problems in the eyes. Blepharoplasty aesthetic procedure is a comfortable and safe way to remove eyelid sagging, bags, and bruises under the eyes, and improve wrinkles.
Eyelid Aesthetic Surgery in Turkey
Eyelid surgery can be performed for both treatment and aesthetic purposes in patients with wrinkles around the eyes and drooping eyelids to narrow the visual field. In droopy eyelids, excess skin is surgically removed. Laser devices are used for this. The aesthetic sutures made will make the incision scar disappear in a short time.
The operations cover the lower eyelid and the upper eyelid. The lower and upper eyelids are procedures with separate treatment plans. According to the patient’s condition, complaint, and aesthetic needs, an operation plan is prepared by the plastic surgeon, and the eyelid aesthetic treatment is started. General and local anesthesia can be applied for eyelid aesthetics. Local anesthesia is mostly preferred.
Eyelid surgery takes an average of 1-2 hours. The operation is performed under anesthesia, so the patient does not feel any pain and is discharged after resting for a few hours after the operation.
Recovery After Blepharoplasty
For bruises and swellings that may occur after eyelid surgery, the surgical area should be cleaned with an antibiotic-containing ointment, and ice compresses should be applied for short periods. Depending on the patient’s condition, the patient can be discharged within a few hours after the surgery.
Antibiotic ointment should definitely be used in order for the wounds to heal quickly and to avoid any pain. Recovery can also occur rapidly, depending on the patient’s physical activities. For this, it is important to rest for 2-4 days with the advice of the doctor. Heavy and sudden movements are not recommended immediately after the surgery.
The skin tissue around the eye and its surroundings is quite thin skin. There may be redness in the incision in this area for up to 6 weeks. These scars become invisible over time.
For a quick recovery, contact with water should be avoided in the post-operative blepharoplasty area. You should stay away from the sea and the pool for a while.
